How we met...

Simon worked for the same magazine as one of Leigh's friends, Emma. After meeting at several nights out and work events, they became close friends.

Eventually Leigh decided she was going to move to be closer to her friends, and it turns out it was the best move she could have ever made. As time went on, Simon was really there for me when she needed him, and he knew that she was there for him.

Then one night, while they were out at the infamous Met Lounge, they finally realised that they were more than just friends and the rest is history.

5 years later Simon and Leigh have a house together, a beautiful family and the rest of their lives to look forward to.

The proposal...

OK, so we have talked about getting married several times. We knew we were always going to, but had never really said when or how, except to say that we'd like it to be in 2010.

Well we got into 2009, and still no wedding plans but still the 2010 idea. With no official engagement there won't be a wedding. So I took matters into my own hands! On our anniversary we went away to a hotel that we go to every year. After dinner I asked Simon to stay down in the bar for 10 minutes and then come up.

Of course 10 minutes turned into 30 minutes, which was enough time for him to drink a whole heap of moonshine with the locals!!! (Yes, actual moonshine).

When he came into the room, he found the words 'Marry Me' written in rose petals on the bed, and a lollypop ring. Laughing the rest of the night away we began to talk about an actual wedding. And here we are...
